Salary: R35 000 – R40 000 Gross pm, depending on experience (Plus Pension, Medical and 13th Cheque)
Minimum Requirements:
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
- Theatre Trained (Non-Negotiable)
- Minimum 2-3 years of Management or Supervisory experience in the Theatre
- Advanced Computer Literacy
- Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
- Flexible in working shifts (as and when required)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities
- In conjunction with the Unit manager be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of theatre teams, effectively motivating, and directing staff to ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork
- To deputise for the Unit manager when necessary
- To assist the Unit Manager in the management of staff within their Unit including specific induction, recruitment and selection, training, performance management, sickness/ absence and appraisals.
- Ensure that continuous training takes place in the Maternity Ward
