Find your place among fellow specialists
You will join our Pre-clinical department, part of the R&D organisation, from our HQ in Humlebæk, Denmark. Here, you will share your workday with around 16 biological, mechanical, chemical and polymer scientists.
We expect you to use the majority of your time in the laboratory in close collaboration with our specialised laboratory technicians. Our task is to support projects within product and technology development through test method solutions and general biological support within wound, continence, bowel and ostomy care products.

Advising on product projects from theory to practice
As one of our pre-clinical test specialists, you will advise on and support various projects, both assisting in brand new product projects and revisiting old ones. You will be testing in the interface between biology and material, between the needs of the users and the products themselves.
You will work with experts across Coloplast, including other pre-clinical specialists, clinical staff, materials- and mechanical experts, project managers, biosafety experts and the like. As part of your day-to-day tasks, you will:
Develop test methods for various medical devices and conduct practical testing thereof
Perform hands-on laboratory testing of devices, including ex-vivo studies
Study literature and writing on the subject and extract relevant findings, including identifying user issues
Analyse data and write report on your findings for colleagues
You will have time to get settled into your area of expertise, to study the field and get acquainted with the material, and you will have your co-workers ready to assist in any way they can.
You are both curious and cooperative
An inquisitive mindset is the key to this role. You obviously want to know when something works and when it does not, but more importantly, you want to know why. Also, you thrive in collaboration and know that two sets of eyes are better than one.
Aside from the personal characteristics, we would prefer that you fulfil most of the following:
You have a relevant master’s degree within the natural sciences, combined with some seniority from hands-on laboratory work
You have knowledge of, or prior experience with biomechanics, preferably within medical devices
You have solid experience testing medical devices, either from a university setting or from a similar position
You are fully fluent in both spoken and written English
