Job Purpose
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to render services which supports the fostering of a provincial identity and the protection of rights by preserving a provincial archival heritage for use by the government and the nation according to the Provincial Archives and Records Service of the Western Cape Act, 2005 (Act No. 3 of 2005). This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A valid code B (or higher) driving licence. Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport may also apply.
Recommendation
Diploma in Public Administration or Information Management; Experience in the archival/ records management field.
Key Performance Areas
Training of records managers and registry staff in governmental bodies; Records audit; Monitoring of compliance with procedures and policies approval and assistance with compilation of records keeping systems; Knowledge empowerment and administration.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Automated storage and retrieval systems, electronic records, database design and electronic publications; Records management practices; Records administration; Skills needed: Written and verbal communication; Proven computer literacy; Ability to meet strict deadlines, plan and organise.
Remuneration
R 294 321 per annum (Salary Level 7)
